Do You Want to Help Your Calculus Student, But Don't Know How?
Ā
We prepare students to earn a 5 on the AP Calculus AB exam by targeting the biggest point losses: FRQs, justification, and time management.

Why strong class grades often do not lead toĀ earning college credit on theĀ AP Exam.
AP Calculus AB grades are earned over a school year. They reward homework, quizzes, partial credit, and teacher-made tests.
The AP Calculus AB exam is different. It is one standardized, timed test that rewards:
-
Specific question formats
-
Required written justification
-
Rubric-based points
-
Multi-part free response execution
That is why a student can earn an A in the class and still earn a 3 on the exam, which often means no college credit.
Do not assume the class automatically prepares students for the exam. Many teachers teach the content well, but exam scoring, justification, and timed FRQ execution are not always the focus.
So most students prepare for the class, not the exam.
And the exam is where college credit is won or lost.
MEET THE INSTRUCTOR
Hi, I'mĀ Erin Bird.
Erin is a high school mathematics teacher with over 13 years of classroom experience and currently serves as a Math Department Chair. She teaches AP Calculus AB, AP Calculus BC, AP Statistics, and Dual Credit mathematics.
As an AP Reader, Erin has scored real AP exams. She knows exactly how responses are evaluated, where students commonly lose points, and what earns full credit.
Erin holds a BA in Mathematics from Michigan State University and an MA in Mathematics from Western Kentucky University. Every Math Momentum Prep lesson is written by Erin and intentionally designed around how the AP Calculus AB exam is scored, not just how the math is taught.
